Day 2 October India is celebrating the birthday of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. His full name Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was the idol of peace born 2 October 1869 Porbandar in Gujarat. His birthday on October 2, remembers it as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, and the whole world as the International Day of Nonviolence. GandhiJi is known here for his invaluable contributions to win back India's freedom from the hands of the British people.
