Honor the best in entertainment and art, led Barack Obama at the 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC on Sunday evening, December 5. The American Commander-in-Chief, who was joined by his wife, Michelle, threw things out of inviting Honoree Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman, Bill T. Jones, Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey at a reception in the East Room of the White House before heading over to the Kennedy Center. By choosing this year's ceremony, told Obama that each one of them has "given the nation an extraordinary gift of art."

What gives a star-studded evening celebrating the year's best in theater, train IFP's 20th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City on Monday night twenty November 9. Held at Cipriani Wall Street, "Black Swan" beauty Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis dazzled as they worked arrival area before heading inside to fit the scene tasks. Also on hand for the festivities was Anne Hathaway, who is fresh out of confirmation being named the 2011 Academy Awards co-host along with actor James Franco.
